My journey with God began over 20 years ago. In fact, I can say that God had been working in my life from the time I can remember; looking back I can say that with utmost confidence.
BUT, my actual willing-walk with God started in July of 1992, when I understood why Jesus died on the cross for me; that it was repentance that God was asking from me; and, that He, in exchange, would give me eternal life in all of His glory through Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-10,13).

Prior to this my life was all about doing the things that I was taught were all about living life to its fullest – being well-cultured by saying yes to all that felt good, and pleased self, learning all about the world and being a participant in all that it had to offer. I thought it was all okay until I met Jesus. When the world was compared to Him, it was all empty and looking back, it was deceiving because I thought that it would bring fulfillment and purpose when there was neither.

This reminds me of a verse – Matthew 16:26 – “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?”
I wish I could tell you that I lived happily ever after, but I can’t. You see it was a few years later that I turned my back on Jesus Christ, allowing myself to slip back into the things of the past. But we serve a redeeming God, and it was in 2002, when I repented, turning back to Jesus, my Redeemer, and I haven’t looked away ever since.

It was at this point that my commitment to Him has proven itself in a life that is continually being transformed and used by Him.
Since then I have served in the church from preparing coffee, to cleaning, running sound and audio visual, teaching in children’s ministry, youth ministry, teaching and leading in the men’s ministry, administration, evangelism, going on Mexico (local) missions trips, organizing outreaches, and overseeing services and ministries as an elder, intern pastor, assistant pastor and now as a senior pastor.
It’s been a joy to be serving the Lord together with my wife, Betina, who is an amazing wife, partner, and help-mate that God is continuing to grow in His image. We have 4 boys and 2 grandchildren: Ruben and Ada (daughter-in-love), Caleb and Audri (grandchildren), Christopher (currently serving in the US Navy), Isaac (serving as a leader of  the media ministry), and Isaiah (Jr. High).

I believe God has a gift for each person, but you have a choice to either accept it or reject it. My hope is that you come to realize that the gift is His Son, Jesus Christ, through whom He extends the gift of grace, eternal life to all who come to call Him Lord and Savior – your life will have only begun.

On behalf of me and my family and the leadership at Refuge Bible Fellowship, we are here to serve you and point you to Jesus Christ, who is the “author and perfector” of our faith, to know that in Him there is hope; hope of an eternal life, which gives us purpose and joy today.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

Numbers 6:24-26
