The Christian and Integrity

Moutains-Ocean-342258_305x170Did you ever meet someone who was one person in front of you and another in front of others?

Godly character is built on consistent and like actions, which come from consistent and like thoughts. What is the origin of your thoughts throughout the day?

The psalmist said, “I have stored up Your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” (Psalm 119:11 ESV) And Jesus said to the people, “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” (Matthew 12:34b ESV) Jesus also said, “You will recognize them by their fruits.” (Matthew 7:16 ESV)

Is your fruit consistent with the truth (Scripture) or are your words and actions different depending on who you are in front of? Because if you have schizophrenic thoughts throughout the day you will produce schizophrenic actions and that lack godly integrity.

Remember that lukewarm is a mix of hot and cold, and God is not pleased with a mixed heart – be wholly committed to serving Him with godly character.

Don’t worry about what people say as long as you are confident that you are consistent with who you are in the Lord. Check out what Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 10:10-11, For they say, “His letters are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account.” Let such a person understand that what we say by letter when absent, we DO when present. [emphasis mine]

If you haven’t been consistent in your Christianity and lack godly integrity, I pray that the Lord strengthens you with boldness and confidence to live consistently for Him alone.
