Description: Ameca splendens are one of the more aggressive species of livebearers, and they can become extremely nippy. They are also one of the rarest live bearers. In the wild, this fish can be found solely in one specific lake located in Mexico; however, all of our Ameca splendens are locally bred, so you do not have to worry about taking these endangered fish out of the wild. They do best with semi-aggressive tank mates, such as barbs, larger tetra species, certain cichlid species, etc.
