Dragon Cord - 100% Aramid

Dragon Cord: Arete's Aramid cord.

The Arete Cord options are 4 different materials, 100% of each one with a few select blends.  Each one is available from 3mm to 8mm because specific projects demand specific needs.  The tech specs have sigma 3 MBS strengths in a diverter (full strength), figure 8 and in a loop.  Every cord has its own personality just like the animals they’re named after.

Dragon Cord is an Aramid core and sheath with a single polyester tracer. Like its fire breathing namesake, Dragon Cord offer exceptional thermal stability, with continuous service temperatures up to ~200°C (392°F) and decomposition occurring around 450–500°C (842–932°F) which is significantly higher than nylon, which melts around 220–260°C (428–500°F). A specialized cord for applications requiring high strength, low stretch, excellent heat resistance, and good resistance to abrasion as well as many fuels and solvents. Add to that exceptional strength to weight performance and it is easy to see why aramid fibers are widely used in firefighter and racing protective clothing, aerospace composites, and high performance industrial ropes.

Designed for high heat, high strength, low stretch applications. For prolonged outdoor exposure or high cycle pulley systems, consider nylon, polyester, or UHMWPE (HMPE) alternatives like our Kangaroo, Cougar, and Alligator cords.

This cord consists of a 100% aramid core and a sheath that is aramid with a polyester tracer for diameter identification.

Sold by the foot or in a full spool. Please enter desired number of feet in "Quantity" for by the foot orders. Longest continuous length available is a full spool at 1000 feet.
