Overview
Ready to take your gardening to the next level? Vego Garden is now offering Omri-Certified, organic worm castings sourced from our incredible local partners The Magic Worm Ranch! Worm castings are a gentle, effective, natural fertilizer produced as a byproduct by worms that provide essential nutrients to plants such as potassium, nitrogen, and phosphorus. These rich, organic worm castings also improve soil structure by increasing aeration, improving drainage, and enhancing moisture retention all at the same time! By purchasing worm castings through us here at Vego Garden you are helping support a remarkable small business here in Texas, and are helping to rebuild the life of our Earth’s soil!
Note: Worm Castings do not contain live worms
Highlights
Improve Soil Microlife Worm castings feed the microlife of the soil (the beneficial bacteria and microbes) rather than simply feeding the plant alone. Nitrogen fixing bacteria provide optimal growing environment, and the durable, natural pellets improves soil drainage & oxygenation
Bioavailability Chemical fertilizers must be first broken down by the soil, which kills off the microlife in the soil. Worm castings are bioavailable immediately, and support the soil’s microlife, rather than harming it!
Organic Plant Food Worm castings, no matter the concentration, will never burn your plants. Naturally present auxins and cytokines encourage larger & more fibrous plant roots, and will increase the overall size of plants by 20-50%
Hatch Worms Bags contain hundreds of African Night Crawler cocoons which receive oxygen through the porous bags and will hatch over time in your garden bed!
Improved Germination Worm castings have been shown to reduce seed germination time by half
Usage
In Garden Beds For use in a garden bed, allot a minimum of 25-30% of the growing medium to worm castings.
As a Soil Amendment Treat each plant in your garden bed with a large handful of castings every 30 days for a boost.
In Seedling Trays For use in seedling trays allot 100% of the growing medium to worm castings.
*For best results, use your castings immediately upon delivery.
